Nick’s Fish House: Seafood Heaven

Nick's Fish House

As soon as I walked into Nicks Fish House located at 2600 Insulator Drive in Baltimore, Maryland I knew I was about to have one of the best dining experiences. It was Friday night, the live band was rocking, and everyone had a smile on there face, both staff and patrons.

I was seated pretty quickly, then greeted by my lovely waitress, Royelle that was very knowledgeable on all of the menu items. She ended up making the whole evening super easy when it came to choosing the best dishes for me to try with the help of her manager. Both were such a great help as I navigated through my food journey that evening, which meant so much because it was obvious that they pride themselves on providing excellent customer service.

Nick's Fish House Pretzel

They started me off with their legendary large crab pretzel that is stuffed with crab imperial and topped with crab dip and cheddar jack cheese. Now, large might even be an understatement because this pretzel was pretty huge and extra cheesy, two or more people can successfully share it.

Next, I tried the flash fried calamari, lightly breaded and served with two different dipping sauces: basil aioli and marinara. Royelle also suggested that I try a third dipping sauce with the calamari, a spicy buffalo sauce which was a really great suggestion.

After those first two starters, I could have just stopped there because I was pretty stuffed but I wanted to share at least two more of the top entrees that I know you guys would love. Nick’s is considered to be one of the best seafood places in Maryland, so I couldn’t just leave without trying some fancy seafood dishes. Take a look at what I got below!

Nick's Fish House Pan Seared Scallops

First up was pan seared scallops over butternut risotto, sprinkled with sprouts for decoration. I want to say that I’m a vegetarian, but I tend to slip up sometimes only when it comes to trying a little bit of seafood at the restaurants we review. I make sure to cleanse after any slip-up so to all my vegetarian bothers and sisters, don’t give up on me yet! LOL. By the way, this was one of my favorite dishes because of the risotto. The scallops were also prepared perfectly for all of my seafood lovers that are wondering.

Next was the momma of all fancy seafood dishes because it had a bit of everything. An open face lobster with grilled shrimp and scallops served with asparagus and neva’s cheesy potato casserole. WOWZA!

I know Beyonce said to take him to Red Lobster but if he’s well behaved, Nicks Fish House is where you should definitely take him. But don’t just take my word for it, go and try it out for yourself! Oh, and if you happen to not be sold by the food… you will definitely love the amazing view from anywhere that you sit in the restaurant.
