yusō onigiri: A World Of Taste In A 4-Inch Triangle

While exploring the beautiful town of Northampton, Massachusetts I went on an exciting food tour and inside of the cutest market, I tasted a yusō onigiri snack. After one bite, I had to have another bite and another!

For all of my sushi lovers, you are going to love this! Its basically sushi on the go. yusō onigiri is a savory, satisfying, Japanese-inspired snack that was discovered by Sarah Sturtevant while on a business trip to Japan. After tasting it, she was hooked! She took the Asian idea and process, adapted her own recipe and created the tasty yusō snack.

It’s a refrigerated treat with a crunch on the outside and yum on the inside. It’s uniquely wrapped, so that keeps the rice moist and the nori crunchy, while the outer layer preserves freshness. Not only does the yusō taste good, it’s also good for you! It’s made with additive-free Japanese nori, non-GMO California-grown rice and premium seeds, and seasonings. Such a good source of protein, gluten free and high in Omega -3s.

They currently have five different flavors:

 Spicy Sesame Chickpea

My team and I have had the opportunity to taste four of the five flavors and all of them are really good. I myself am very fond of spicy foods so the spicy flavors are a little more memorable, but I promise you’ll love them all. Unwrapping the deliciousness is as easy as 1-2-3. All you have to do is rip the stip in the middle, pull the right side of the wrapper, then pull the left side and enjoy!

Currently, yusō can only be found in a few select areas. Ask your local retailer, food service or distributor to contact SaCaR Enterprises LLC at 978-834-6494 or sarah@yusogood.com to try and get them in a store near you.
